The Barbados Food and Rum Festival is a celebration of the growing, exceptional talent in the “Culinary Capital of the Caribbean”. For the 9th edition of the Festival, local Barbadian Chefs and Mixologists are being honoured and celebrated for a series of events from today Thursday, October 18th until Sunday, October 21st. Expect your taste buds to go to culinary heaven this weekend!

The Festival Chefs are: Damian Leach, Javon Cummins, Creig Greenidge, Jamal Whittaker, Rodney Corbin, Michael Hinds, Michael Harrison and Rhea Gilkes.

The Festival Mixologists are: Thaddeus Sealy, Jamaal Bowen, Ryan Adamson, Dameain Williams, Antonio Busby, Shane McClean.

The exciting event lineup includes:

Thursday, October 18: The Official Festival Opening at the historic Oistins fish village called ‘ NIGHT OUT IN OISTINS’. Local chefs will prepare fresh fish dishes and grilled treats throughout the evening, along with live entertainment from Barbadian musicians and celebrities. Friday, October 19: The Signature Rum Event at Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, called ‘RUM EXTRAVAGANZA – TASTE OF THE EXOTIC’. Local award-winning chefs prepare unique hors d’oeuvres to complement the delicious aperitifs and hand-crafted rum cocktails at this all inclusive event. Click here for tickets

Saturday, October 20: The ‘GOURMET SAFARI – DINE AROUND’ concept provides patrons with the opportunity to dine at some of their favourite restaurants and indulge in the crem dela crem! Sunday, October 21: Sunday afternoon the festival hosts its finale event with the ‘TASTE THE SPIRITS OF POLO – RUM & POLO’ event. A riveting game of polo meets world-class cocktails and canapés at Holder’s Polo Club at an all inclusive event. Click here for tickets
